Former In The Zone Speakers and Special Guests

Bill Bates was Special Teams Captain for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys and a very visible member of the Dallas nickel defense at middle linebacker position. He exemplifies the qualities of perseverance and was named a member of the All-Madden Team for 12 consecutive years.

Lee Corso, one of college football’s most knowledgeable, opinionated and entertaining analysts, is a key member of ESPN’s College GameDay. He joined ESPN in 1987 after 28 years of football coaching experience at the college and professional levels, including 17 seasons as a head coach.

Pat Dye is a former college football coach most notable for his tenure as the head coach at Auburn University from 1981 until 1992. With a career record of 153–62–5 over nineteen seasons as a head coach, Dye was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005.

Ernie Frey is a former college football stand-out at Wheaton College , Ernie Frey comes from a family who understands conviction and commitment. Born to a missionary family, he and his wife Anne continued that tradition by serving in Russia , India , Guatemala , South Africa , Malawi , Ethiopia , Tanzania , and Uganda . A father of three girls, he now serves a pastor of an innovative church which has grown to 3,000 members.

J.D. Gibbs is the eldest son of Joe Gibbs, owner of NASCAR's Joe Gibbs Racing and former head coach of the NFL's Washington Redskins. Named president of JGR in October 1997 J.D. Gibbs has spent the past 13 years overseeing the team's expansion from a single car team to its current three-car operation in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Michael Glenn is executive vice president of market development and corporate communications for FedEx Corporation. He also serves as president and chief executive officer of FedEx Services, and is responsible for all marketing, sales, strategic planning and analysis, and communications activities for FedEx Express and FedEx Ground.

Mike Gottfried is currently an ESPN college football analyst and color commentator. He was a successful NCAA college football coach leading Pittsburg in two bowl games. He is the founder of Team Focus.

Mark Harris. Following a decade of stellar music as a member of the landmark group 4HIM, Mark Harris has launched a solo career relying on the same powerful vocals and honest songwriting that yielded such hits as “The Basics of Life” and “For Future Generations.” His current album, “The Line Between the Two,” is the result of him re-thinking his life, his music, and the purpose for both.

Lou Holtz is a college football coaching legend and analyst for CBS Sports’ College Football Today. He became the only coach in NCAA history to ever lead six different programs to bowl games and the only coach to ever guide four different programs to final top 20 rankings.

Allan Houston is a retired American professional player for the NBA , and currently the Assistant to the President for Basketball Operations, for the New York Knicks . Currently, Houston spends his time helping different charity and non-profit organizations.

Mike Minter is a retired American football safety who played his entire professional career with the NFL's Carolina Panthers .

Chris Mortensen an award-winning journalist, provides reports for ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday Night Countdown, SportsCenter, ESPN Radio and ESPN.com.

Andy Pettitte is an American left-handed starting pitcher for the New York Yankees. He has won five championships as a Yankee and is Major League Baseball's all-time postseason wins leader with 18.

Gene Stallings is the founder and former President and General Manager of the Dallas Mavericks which he founded in 1980. He is the chairman and CEO of Camp-of-the-Woods, a Christian family resort.

Les Steckel is the president and CEO of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). His football coaching career spans over 30 years including college and NFL teams. His experience includes serving as the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans and the New England Patriots, and others.

Bob Stoops is the head coach of the University of Oklahoma football team. During the 2000 season, Stoops led the Sooners to an Orange Bowl victory and a National Championship .

Joe Theismann is a former Canadian and American football quarterback in the National Football League and Canadian Football League. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003. Theismann currently co-hosts the show Playbook on the NFL Network.

Spencer Tillman is t he insightful lead analyst of CBS Sports’ College Football Today, Spencer burst onto the college gridiron as an award-winning running back for the University of Oklahoma . Drafted by the Houston Oilers, he was chosen a team captain in 1987-88 before moving to play for San Francisco . His eight years in pro ball were capped by the 49ers’ Superbowl win in 1989. He is the author of the leadership book “Scoring in the Red Zone.”

John Wooden is a retired basketball coach. He is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player and as a coach. As the former head basketball coach for UCLA, his 10 NCAA National Championships in a 12 year period while at UCLA are unmatched by any other college basketball coach.

Bobby Bowden theformer head football coach for Florida State University for over 30 years. He is the nation's second winningest active head coach and the only coach ever to lead nine consecutive teams to 10 or more wins.

Mack Brown, head football coach at the University of Texas Longhorns, has spent more than 30 years coaching football. He has built top five programs at Texas and North Carolina and is considered a master at recruiting.

Tony Dungy is a former professional American football player and coach in the National Football League. Dungy was head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Indianapolis Colts from 2002 to 2008. He became the first African-American head coach to win the Super Bowl in 2007. Since retirement, Dungy has served as a prominent analyst on NBC's Sunday night studio show.

Avery Johnson is the head coach of the NBA Dallas Mavericks. His coaching ability won him the NBA Coach of the Year for 2005-06 and he coached the Western Conference in the 2006 All-Star game.

Ernie Johnson, Jr. is the TNT studio host for NBA Thursday telecasts and Emmy Award-winning Inside the NBA, and also serves as studio host of TBS College Football. Johnson was recognized with a Sports Emmy for "Best Studio Host/Personality." In recent years, EA Sports has tapped Johnson to voice PGA and NBA video games.

Clark Kellogg is a CBS college basketball commentator, who played professionally for the Indiana Pacers. He has worked as an analyst for CBS' coverage of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Houston Nutt, Jr. is the head coach of the University of Mississippi football team. He is the former Razobrback coach,, guiding the University of Arkansas to three SEC Western Division titles and eight bowl berths in his decade in Fayetteville.

Thomas Osborne is a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from Nebraska. However, he is best known as the former head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, UNL’s football team. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999 and received the Jim Thorpe Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000.

Mark Richt is the head football coach of the University of Georgia Bulldogs. Along with his successful coaching career, he appeared as himself in the movie Facing the Giants which featured a coach of a fictitious Christian high school in Georgia.

Loren Roberts is a member of the PGA and current U.S. Open senior champion. He co-wrote Focus: The Name of the Game with fellow PGA Tour golfers Scott Simpson and Larry Mize.

Jason Sehorn is a former NFL player and panelist for Fox Sports’ Sunday NFL pregame show. He played for the New York Giants and the St. Louis Rams.

Dean Smith is the former head basketball coach at the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. As a coaching legend, he holds NCAA tournament records for most appearances, most consecutive appearances and most tournament victories.

Norm Sonju is the founder and former President and General Manager of the Dallas Mavericks which he founded in 1980. He is the chairman and CEO of Camp-of-the-Woods, a Christian family resort.

Roger Staubach is Chairman of the Board of The Staubach Company, which deals in commercial real estate. He won the Heisman Trophy for College Football in 1963. As a quarterback in the NFL, Roger led the Dallas Cowboys to two Super Bowl Titles and was the five-time leading passer in the NFC.

Jim Tressel is the current head coach of Ohio State University. He is the only coach in AFCA history to win National Coach of the Year honors at two different schools and in two different divisions. He joins father, Lee Tressel as the only father-son duo to win AFCA National Coach of the Year honors.

Tommy Tuberville is the current head football coach of the Texas Tech Raiders. Previously the head football coach for the Auburn Tigers,.he led tthem to the Southeastern Conference title and a victory in the Nokia Sugar Bowl in 2004 to earn AFCA Regional and National Coach of the Year honors.

Kurt Warner, the recently retired National Football League quarterback who played for the Arizona Cardinals , New York Giants , and St. Louis Rams. Warner is often considered the best undrafted player of all time following a 12 year career regarded as one of the greatest stories in NFL history.

Joe White is the President and owner of Kanakuk Kamps and the founder of Kids Across America. A former football coach at Texas A & M University, he travels across the country sharing Christ with teens and college students.

Pat Williams is the Senior Vice President of the Orlando Magics, which he co-founded in 1987 and helped lead to the NBA finals in 1995. The author of 23 books, Pat has also been affiliated with NBA teams in Chicago, Atlanta, and Philadelphia. In 1996, Pat was named as one of the 50 most influential people in NBA history by a national publication.

Danny Wuerffel was a University of Florida Heisman Trophy winner in 1996. He later played for several NFL teams. Since retiring from football, he became executive director of Desire Street Ministries in New Orleans.
